Obviously we might be biased, but we think The Academy is a great team to be part of. With over five years of experience based on a proven successful business model, our Learning Centres are thriving and stimulating places in which to teach. With the latest technology at your disposal and a wealth of resources, support and opportunities for professional development, you’re looking at an exciting next step in your teaching career.
As teaching takes place at the weekend, a role at The Academy can easily be fitted around other commitments, such as studies. The number of hours taken on is also flexible. Staff members can start off with as little as three hours a week – and as we're always growing there are always opportunities to take on more.
The Academy is always open to new ideas, and every single team member is involved in the continuous development of the company. So if you have a bright idea – whether for a student competition, a new teaching topic, or a special event or workshop – chances are you'll get to see it happen.
We also believe in giving all staff the opportunity to use a range of different skills and talents, and gain experience in a variety of areas. So if you're applying for a teaching role, you could also be involved in developing teaching or marketing materials, contributing to the blog or website, or helping to organise events.
We believe our teachers and tutors are some of the best in the country and we aim to provide a positive and stimulating environment in which they can continue to grow and learn as educators. By joining The Academy you’ll receive intensive training in our theme-based approach to learning, as well as on-going mentoring, support and development in both the theoretical and practical strands of teaching and learning.
It may be a cliché, but it's true – working with young people can be extremely rewarding. At The Academy, small group sizes allow staff to really get to know each student and make a big impact on each individual. It's difficult to beat the feeling of seeing a student suddenly 'get it', smile when you tell them how amazing they are, or become their own best motivator.
In addition, most of our students would not ordinarily be able to access private tuition, so there really is an opportunity to make a big difference to their lives.
Last but certainly not least, working with The Academy is fun! We're all lovely people (honest!) and we have a close-knit community of people, providing mutual support for each other and meeting up regularly to share ideas and just enjoy some down time.
We'd love to have you on board, so why not contact us to discuss your role in our team?
