Our teachers will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a degree at least 2.1 or higher that is related to the subject being taught. They will also have specialist knowledge in given subjects, extensive experience of working with children in an educational setting and a sound knowledge of the national curriculum.
Most of our teaching staff have graduated from the UK’s top ten universities.
Yes. The law states that all adults working with children in any situation must undergo a full and enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check. All teachers of The Academy will have held a clear CRB disclosure certificate before coming to work for us and will undertake a fresh CRB screening upon application.
To enrol your child onto one of The Academy’s excellent courses you’ll first need to book an assessment that will help to determine his or her achievement levels in Maths and English. Once we have those results, you’ll be able to select an appropriate course and then book a meeting with the centre’s head to review your options and get your child started.

The Academy is currently based at the Burdett Neighbourhood Centre in Tower Hamlets. We’ll have new centres opening up across London very soon. To find out how you can open a study centre in your area click here. The Academy is open on Saturdays, 10am-6pm.
We teach in small groups based on ability, so that each student can benefit from one-on-one time with the teacher and individualized support. There will not usually be more than 8 children in a group.
Yes, we offer a Home Tutoring service that covers all of the main subjects and is available for students of all levels and abilities. Click here for more information.
This depends on what course you choose. All Academy students take Maths and English. The Achieve package and GCSE Support course both include Science, while the Develop course covers a wide range of different subjects. Click here for more information on courses.
