Our tutors are all highly qualified and undergo rigorous testing during their application process to join The Academy. Our tutors work flexibly, creatively and passionately to ensure your child becomes a confident, empowered and enthusiastic learner for life.
flexible tutoring
Tutoring can take place either online or at one of our learning centres. Sessions are usually between one and four hours, depending on the programme you join. Small group packages are available if you wish to split a session between siblings or friends.

How does it work?
Weekly classes delivered by enthusiastic, passionate and experienced teachers.
A warm, inviting and nurturing setting is provided in every online classroom with an emphasis on positive reinforcement for all students. Our teachers pride themselves on creating a place where students feel safe to express their understanding and develop their knowledge.
- All our lessons are taught online.
- Lessons are fully interactive, so students will be engaged with their tutor in conversation and dialogue.
- Students can attend one class a week in all subject areas.
- Classes are taught for a minimum of 60 minutes.
- Lessons take place either on a weekday (after 5pm) or during the weekend.
- Students will have a fixed schedule of lessons every week.
- Our lessons will be taught by the same teacher every term for continuity
- Homework is provided every week.
- Exams are conducted upto 2 times each term to track progress.

SELF-GUIDED LEARNING
Using our tailor-made approach to self-guided learning, we ensure that all our students can adopt disciplined, flexible and innovative approaches to their own learning. We give them ownership of their future.

our teachers
Our teachers specialise in one subject and usually never teach another. This means if you want to know how Jupiter came to be the largest planet in our Solar System, our specialist Physics tutors will have the answer straight away.
Splitting by ability, not age
Splitting children by year group simply doesn’t work. That is why we split according to ability. This approach means those that work quickly can excel above beyond the curriculum whilst those that need more time can learn at a pace comfortable for them. Everyone thrives and succeeds.

All our classes will be taught with material in line with what students will be covering with their teachers in school. These lessons are designed to help a struggling child as anyone who wants to work ahead of their classmates in school
Communication
Student homework, feedback, grades, behaviour and reports are all made available through GeeniHub. This transparency and slick interface means parents, students and teachers can all work together more closely.
Lessons not lectures
We strongly believe the most effective way to learn, improve and build confidence is by teaching lessons that are interactive and allow students to raise questions during the class and have these answered immediately by their tutor. Our lesson will never be taught with one way video. Students will be expected to have a working camera and microphone.
WE GUARANTEE PROGRESS
- All our classes work through structured teaching plans. Students will be provided with a number of additional resources throughout the term for practice of in-class exercises and homework tasks. This will will include all practice papers, answers schemes and exam tips and tricks.
- Because every child is different, we are flexible with our package options. Parents can opt for whichever package they feel best suits their child’s learning needs and areas of learning.
- Our flexible enrolment packages mean you can opt to support your child in one subject alone, or in multiple subjects. Our teaching team will be assisting you with this decision all the way so you’re not left feeling confused or alone.
- Our wide programmes of support cover everything you might wish for; English, Maths and Science. Within the Science curriculum our teachers cover all three disciplines, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
