Growing up, I never imagined I’d be a teacher (and eventually a business owner) supporting and educating so many students and families across the UK. The journey I’ve embarked on has turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. I’ve lost count now of how many students I’ve taught at The Academy. But I believe that every child we enrol is a new opportunity who will evaluate us for our uniqueness and exceptional teaching. This for me has made and continues to make teaching such an exciting profession.

Parents shouldn’t have to put up with poor teaching in schools, or rely on overstretched teachers who don’t have enough time deliver results. And sometimes it’s not the teacher…but A failing in the system overall. Nothing should come in the way of a good quality education. I don’t believe that education should break the bank. It must be accessible and affordable for all.

I focus my energy at The Academy on speaking to parents, quality control, creating lesson curriculums, and most importantly, vetting and training teachers to ensure everything I’ve learnt during my time teaching is instilled in them. Teachers are fast tracked through an intense  training programme to deliver great results from their first lesson. This means parents enrolling with us get the security  they otherwise wouldn’t get from a private tutor.

Through my own experience in school and starting The Academy whilst studying Neuroscience at University College London, I know the only thing that will get a child to really understand, absorb and even enjoy the concepts covered in the core subjects is immersing themselves into a lesson that’s taught well by a teacher who they admire and respect. My time teaching students across many different boroughs in London set me up in good stead as a start-up business owner who could confidently enrol parents and show them very quickly what could be achieved in a short space of time. Indeed, i used this tool to guarantee that i could prove significant progress in a matter of weeks. 

I’m proud and thankful to all the support I had from teachers all those years ago. Like me, they were passionate, enthusiastic and results driven. Although we’ve grown many times larger since our opening, these core values are still what drives me and my team to continue reaching out to new parents every year.
